About Epiphany School

Epiphany School is a Catholic school for students Pre-K through Sixth grade, located in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1929, the school has embraced thousands of students and their families providing a high quality Catholic Education. Epiphany School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges & Schools. Academic achievement is only one side of Epiphany School, spiritual and moral growth is the other. We have always believed Christian teachings have a place in our school. We strive to create an atmosphere where basic Catholic values are lived and where students learn about God working in their lives. Through the dedication and commitment of a caring faculty and staff, each student is encouraged to recognize and develop his God-given gifts and talents so that he will be prepared to meet with Christian fortitude the challenges and demands of an ever-changing world.


The School Day

The school day runs from 8:15 am to 2:45 pm for grades Kindergarten through 6th. The school day includes a full academic, spiritual and extracurricular program. Students bring their own lunch. Milk and snacks can be purchased in the cafeteria. After-school care bus transportation is provided through cooperating care facilities.


Pre-Kindergarten Program

Our Pre-Kindergarten offers both half and full day options. Our PreK provides a safe, and nurturing environment where 3-5 year olds can assemble, learn and play. Our mission is to provides an atmosphere of caring and trust that will introduce school as a happy place outside of home. Pre-Kindergarten students participate in specials such as Music, Computer, and Library. We strive to develop the child intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually. Parent participation is always welcomed!

PreK 3

The 3 year old program is on Tuesday and Thursday, half or full day.

The 4-5 year old class is offered on a 3 or 5 day basis, which is also available half or full day.

Modern Learning Technology

Our modern facility includes state of the art technology in our labs and classrooms. Our entire system is networked connecting all classrooms and offices through both wired and wireless hot spots.

Our Library Media Center includes 28 Pentium IV computers connected to high speed Internet, 2 color printers, a color scanner, Apple TV, and SMART Board. Students use this technology to learn twenty-first century media skills.  Also, our library contains a vast selection of books to encourage students to become lifelong readers.

Stream Lab

Our S.T.R.E.A.M Lab is a shared space for all grade levels to complete S.T.R.E.A.M. lessons. S.T.R.E.A.M. is an interdisciplinary approach to learning that incorporates Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts, and/or Mathematics. Our lab includes a fully equipped Science Lab to accommodate up to 25 students, Green Screens, Coding Robots (Sphero Sprk+, Ozobots, and Bee-Bots), Maker-space materials, and art supplies. Our Classrooms are equipped with SMART Boards and HP laptops to support teacher-student interactions. Students also have access to 1:1 devices. PreK to Third grade use iPads in their classrooms. Fourth to Sixth grade use Chromebooks. All students use their Epiphany School Google Accounts to connect virtually with their teachers on an on-going basis.

Additional Educational Value

Our Music Room is home to both music class and instrument lessons. Concerts are performed on stage twice a year: Christmas Concert and Spring Concert. Students in Fourth to Sixth grade can choose to participate in additional instrument lessons with our music teacher. Contact the main office for details.   

Our school’s gymnasium is used for gym class, school events and Masses, and hosts an annual basketball tournament. The school campus provides a large area for outdoor play and sports activities. The convent provides residence for the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The students are invited into the convent for celebrations and services in the Chapel.

Academic Achievements

Epiphany school has received numerous academic achievements and distinctions, including accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. We are seven time winners of the Jr. High Scholarship Challenge. Since 2008, six of eight valedictorian and salutatorians from Waverly, Sayre, Athens and Notre Dame High Schools have been Epiphany graduates. 95% of Epiphany graduates go on to college.

Through Parish and Community support, we make this education accessible to any family who seeks it, regardless of religion.
